- How much trash and waste are produced each week in our homes, our city, and our state?
- What are the 3 R's?
- How can we adjust our habits and lifestyles to help save our planet?
- What recycling program does our city of Madison, WI have?
- What recycling programs to other countries have?
Listed above are five essential questions that guided the lessons in this unit, titled "From Trash to Treasure". As a teacher and a world citizen, I feel it is my responsibility to give my students the opportunity to learn about various issues and concepts that are present in our world. In this unit, students will be exposed to various current topics, including production, consumption, and recycling, as a way to explore our own community, country, and world. Students will engage in authentic activities throughout this unit, and it is my hope that each learner will feel empowered and recognize that they have the ability to make a positive difference in our world.
Enjoy!
